How to Keep Your Kiosk COVID-19-Free and People Safe and Healthy
Posted on April 14, 2020 by Steve Bardocz
Keeping your staff, visitors, and contractors safe and healthy has always been important, but during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, this has become paramount. Here are a few ways to keep your kiosk free of infection-causing pathogens:
Wipe down your kiosk periodically
Here are instructions and recommended disinfecting solutions you can use on Savance’s kiosks.
Clean surfaces with a soft cloth and warm soapy water to break down dust and debris that viruses may adhere to. Once dry, apply a disinfecting agent with a soft cloth or towel.
- Microban® Multi-Purpose Cleaner
- Purell® Foodservice Surface Sanitizer
- Clorox® or other household disinfecting wipes
- Bleach/Water Mix – 1/3 Cup bleach per Gallon of water
Note: Products with Ethanol and 2-Butoxyethanol are not recommended, as their corrosive nature can cause a dull or foggy appearance to the touch panel over time.
Offer complimentary hand-sanitizer
Next to the kiosk, offer up complimentary hand sanitizer that people can use before and after using the kiosk. This can prevent the spread of germs by killing the germs before and after people touch the kiosk.
Automate disinfection by investing in a UV Cleaner
This little module and bracket automatically clean any pathogens left on the kiosk, including the Coronavirus. It works by detecting kiosk usage and then once the coast is clear, it starts a cleaning cycle that emits low powered UV light that is safe to humans for short exposure, but unsafe to germs. The UV light penetrates the cells and destroys their DNA. This provides a completely automated disinfection method that uses UV-C energy to inactivate microorganisms at the genetic level by scrambling their cellular DNA. UV-C is the most lethal wavelength to microorganisms. » See Product Details
